The purpose of this Action Research study was to explore, understand, and enhance how administrators support teachers in their professional development, particularly in relation to English Language Learners (ELLs). Effective administrative support is essential in equipping educators with the strategies, resources, and confidence needed to meet the diverse needs of ELL students. This study examines how administrators provide guidance and professional development opportunities, focusing on three key areas: dual language programs, the Orton-Gillingham approach, and the benefits of ongoing professional learning. Cycle 1 of the study explores how current administrative practices impact teacher preparedness and confidence in working with ELL students. Through surveys, interviews, and observations, data was collected from administrators across various grade levels to assess the effectiveness of existing support structures. Cycle 2 builds on these findings by implementing targeted professional development initiatives and collaborative planning efforts designed to enhance instructional strategies for ELL students. This phase seeks to foster a culture of continuous learning, where administrators actively engage in providing sustained and meaningful support for educators. A mixed-methods approach was employed to analyze the effectiveness of administrative support, incorporating feedback and professional development reflections. Findings indicate that ongoing professional development, tailored mentorship, and collaborative planning significantly enhance administrators' ability to support teachers and ELL students. The study highlights the need for structured, administrator-led initiatives that promote instructional best practices, create inclusive learning environments, and empower administrators to better serve their diverse student populations.
