The intriguing correlated phenomena that emerge in the flat band of the twisted bilayer graphene manifest in a phase diagram where the superconducting dome is adjacent to a correlated insulating state and the metallic phase above the superconducting dome is arguably a strange metal. In this dissertation, the superconducting and correlated insulating states are reexamined using low temperature transport studies. First, the extremely slow group velocity associated with the flat band renders the very existence of superconductivity paradoxical. This paradox is resolved by the dominant quantum geometric contribution to the superfluid stiffness, which is extracted by our non-linear transport data in the superconducting and normal states; we also find that the Schwinger mechanism-limited band velocity constitutes a new limiting mechanism to the superconducting critical current. Second, the balance among various interactions in large-angle twisted bilayer graphene constrains the spatial ordering of Wannier orbitals. We observe that the competing geometrically frustrated ground states underly a new class of correlated insulating states at denominator 3 fractional moire fillings, which display magnetic ordering signatures and tripled unit cell reconstruction. These results demonstrate twisted bilayer graphene as an exceptional system to explore novel correlated phenomena emergent in flat bands.
