In this study, the hydrographic, geological and geotechnical works carried out for "Izmir Bay-Alsancak Port Navigation Channel" and the future dredging works within the scope of Izmir Bay and Alsancak Port Rehabilitation Project are discussed. Within the scope of this study, the surface soil samples (K1-12) are taken from twelve different locations in the study areas on the navigation channel. The geotechnical and geological properties of the soil samples are determined. Hydrographical and oceanographic studies are carried out to reveal the actual 2D and 3D bathymetries of study areas. Furthermore, the inclination and vectors maps are generated. Based on the acquired soil properties and the bathymetric data, slope stability analyses have been performed for the two cross-sectional profiles along the navigation channel, one of which is that the first line and the second one is at the second line. Slide v.6.0 software is used for the slope analysis. The slope stability analyses are carried out for the different seismic loadings (0.12 g and 0.23 g), and the channel depths of 17 m. The seismic accelerations used in the analyses are calculated considering the earthquakes occurred in the past close to study area. In the results of this study, the stability conditions of slopes of navigation channel are demonstrated.
