Emotions and incivility in the organization are examined to consider the outcomes of stress and job satisfaction from an individual perspective. The purpose is to prompt an awareness of the impact of negative emotions and incivility, resulting in a minimization of the negative effects for individuals in the workplace environment. This study builds upon the framework of the cognitive-motivational-relational theory of emotions, in combination with the affective events theory. A literature review from key articles is presented discussing the basic attributes and findings of the negative emotions of anger and envy, incivility, stress, and job satisfaction. Hypotheses are presented regarding the relationship of negative emotions, incivilities and specified outcomes experienced by employees in the organization. Participants in the study include individuals as provided by independent affiliate companies as provided by Qualtrics.
