Executive leaders play a fundamental role in shaping their organization's security and safety posture through resource allocation decisions. However, there is a lack of comprehensive understanding regarding the decision-making processes employed by these leaders, which is critical given the potential impact of those internally and externally reliant on the organization. This research addressed this gap by answering these key research questions: How do Executive Security Leaders of multinational organizations make strategic decisions prioritizing the allocation of limited organizational resources? Why do executive leaders of multinational organizations use specific techniques and tools for making strategic decisions, prioritizing the allocation of limited organizational resources? The research methodology adopts a mixed inductive and deductive approach, drawing insights from qualitative and quantitative methods. A survey instrument was developed to collect data on executive decision-making processes, focusing on techniques, tools, and influencing factors. The study employs descriptive statistical analysis to uncover patterns and correlations, supplemented by qualitative insights from open-ended responses. The findings reveal a significant reliance on structured organizational techniques and software tools among executive leaders, with variations based on organizational size and individual roles. The study also identified nuanced relationships between decision-making principles, uncertainties, and the adoption of sophisticated methodologies, highlighting the complexity of strategic decision-making processes. Understanding the decision-making dynamics of executive leaders is crucial for enhancing organizational readiness and resilience in addressing security and safety challenges. This research contributes to the unmet need to build more resilient organizations that navigate evolving landscapes effectively.
