The Culturally Responsive Teaching Self-Efficacy Scale (CRTSE; Siwatu, 2007) was created to measure teachers' self-efficacy in the area of culturally responsive teaching. It is a widely used tool to gather descriptive statistics but has been validated only a small number of times and even less in its original 41-item format. This study was designed to investigate the validity and reliability of the CRTSE using a national sample of in-service teachers. A principal component analysis (PCA) and reliability analysis were conducted to determine the factor structure of the CRTSE. The results of the PCA revealed a 20-item, three-factor structure of the CRTSE. Additionally, analyses revealed good reliability along with strong evidence of convergent and divergent validity. Though studies have found the CRTSE to be unidimensional, including the original study, the current study aligned with previous studies that found the measure to be multidimensional. Given these findings, recommendations for practice and future research are discussed.
