The purpose of the study is to research how to efficiently incorporate organizational leadership and technology within the hotel industry. Due to globalization, the hotel industry is changing, and customer demands are growing. Hotels must have leaders who are willing to adapt to new leadership strategies and are willing to incorporate change. The literature review explores the reasons for change, a variety of change management models, and leadership styles. Through change management, hotel owners can define a set of external and internal actions that can be implemented without a major financial cost. In turn, these changed can bring the hotel added value and overall positive results as defined by each property. In order to explore change management within a hotel, fifteen interviews will be conducted. All participants work in different areas of a hotel that has undergone major change management. The fifteen participants sampled are reflective of the mix of owners, managers, and employes found in a general hotel. The interviews will be transcribed, coded, and analyzed. Participation will provide a platform to collect data that may lead to an understanding as to how change within organizational leadership and technology can affect a hotel property. The research will focus on the need for implementing different methods of change and will help add to current research. At the end of this study, readers can transfer the data gained by using generalization in the findings and apply it to their own small businesses. Common change management methods and helpful strategies that arise in multiple interviews will be highlighted. The overall purpose is to see which change management practices and leadership styles are most beneficial when changes take place in a hotel.
