The purpose of this phenomenological study was to explore the phenomenon of activity directors providing spiritual care to older adults with dementia who reside in memory care assisted living community (ALC) settings in Western Colorado. This study was conducted using a phenomenological research design to illuminate the experiences and perceptions of activity directors providing spiritual care to older adults with dementia. Person-centered care theory served as the study's theoretical foundation. Previous gerontological research informed the investigation, which included six open-ended interviews with activity directors working in nonreligiously affiliated ALCs. The use of interpretative phenomenological analysis revealed themes and the essence of the participants' experiences. Research findings appear in Chapter 4, and general considerations, future directions, and limitations appear in Chapter 5.
