This paper describes the Latino male transfer process from a community college to a four-year institution. Using a phenomenological qualitative process, the Latino male experience is analyzed to find common factors in the transfer process. The study's findings are compared to determine whether the Schlossberg transition model applies as a theoretical foundation for the college transfer process. The findings of the study demonstrate that the four S's factors of self, situation, strategies and support were relevant influences on the transfer process. However, the three keys to transition (Moving In, Moving Through, and Moving Out) were not as defined within the college transfer process of Latino males. Analysis demonstrated that even though students had completed the transfer, they still may not have fully completed each stage of transition.
