This study was designed to study language modalities that deaf creators and users use on their social media activities while sharing their contents through their social media accounts. The history and current trends in social media were explored and discussed in depth linking to how deaf people go through the decision-making process in choosing their language modalities. Mixed methods research with explanatory sequential design was selected for the methodology of this dissertation with the first phase being quantitative with a web-based survey and the second phase is qualitative approach with semi-structured interviews with social media postings. After data was collected from participants during the first phase, SPSS was used to run statistical tests on survey results to inform the second phase of data collection, which was the collection of social media postings and semi-structured interviews. The interviews were conducted through Zoom and transcribed in English. Also, multimodal analysis was used to analyze the data that consisted of images, videos and texts taken from social media accounts then integrated with the findings from the first phase for the final analysis to formulate a data corpus finalizing the analyzing process. Results were discussed in depth aligning with this dissertation's conclusion.
