War. War has been fought in numerous different ways since the dawn of humanity evolving exponentially with new additions and advancements to technology. In the 21st Century, the world has entered the digital age with daily life revolving around information based technologies. Because of this, the war of information has never been more important. Countries around the globe strive to achieve information domination over the other with strategies and tactics.Social media has become globally popular amassing millions of applications with millions of users daily. The ease of information sharing and communication based tools has made it the prime subject for waging a war of information. Social media has amassed millions of people, the influence it holds and the information that can be disseminated and spread through it has sparked many state and non-state entities interests. Social media stands as a jack of all trades in warfare in which it has the ability to fulfill many kinds of missions and objectives depending on the person/country's goals. Strategies such as Information warfare or information operations can easily be facilitated to cause chaos and discourse while also being a beacon for obtaining support and swaying public opinions.During the writing of this thesis two conflicts have seen heavy social media attention and usages which have been the Russia-Ukraine war and the Gaza-Israel war. Each has differences of social media usages that have spread beyond their respective borders that are important to this research study. I will be using different social media applications, literature reviews, and various internet sources to see how social media has impacted the countries. I will also be seeing how each country utilizes social media to their advantage and how the world population views and shares their opinions and images about the wars on social media.
