Land relations in Mongolia during the collectivization movement
from herders to collectivists /[electronic resource] :by Turdalai Radnaased. - Singapore :Springer Nature Singapore :2025. - xi, 173 p. :ill., digital ;24 cm.
Chapter 1: Land relations in the period before the formation of the cooperative system (1921-1931) -- Chapter 2: Land relations in the People's Production Collective (1932-1952) -- Chapter 3: Land conditions of agricultural production collectives (1953-1959) -- Chapter 4: Agricultural-Collective Land Relations and Local Government Restructuring (1935-1959).
This monograph describes the process of collectivisation policy and the "collectivisation movement" in Mongolia in the 20th century, which affected the entire agricultural sector and resulted in the "socialisation" of livestock. This brought about changes in the use of land and pasture, in the way of life and in the mentality of Mongolian pastoralists. The monograph mainly covers the years 1933-1959. For the study of the subject, mainly archival sources were used, which refer to the 20 years between 1940 and 1959 and thus, assuming the social development goals of the time, concentrate mainly on the period before the transition to socialism. Dr.Turdalai Radnaased is Scientific Secretary of the Institute of International Studies of the Academy of Sciences (MAS), Mongolia, since 2018.He co-authored more than 20 books on the history of Mongolia in the 20th century and published more than 50 articles in academic journals. Since 2018, Dr. R. Turdalai has been working as Deputy Editor of "Journal of International Studies" and "Mongolian Journal of International Affairs", respectively.
