This book explores the nature of teacher and school resilience in times of uncertainty, and how resilience can be nurtured within individual schools and educational systems as a whole. Innovative approaches to exploring these concepts are presented, as well as the role of educational research and practice in providing opportunities for sustainable, peaceful and equitable growth of societies, where diversity and diversification under conditions of uncertainly and risk are appreciated. The book's contributors show that teacher and school resilience can be promoted through high-quality teacher education and nurtured by school leaders at different levels. Directions for future research are also indicated. The book enriches relevant theory and research in the field of teaching, teacher professional development, teacher education, education policy and school leadership. Joanna Madalińska-Michalak is Full Professor of Social Sciences at the University of Warsaw, Poland. Maria Assunção Flores is Associate Professor at the University of Minho, Portugal.
