The book makes the case that international norms represent a deal that fulfils the interests of actors that exercise normative power in international institutions. These findings make important theoretical and empirical contributions to the literature on normative power, EU-China relationship, and global governance. Zhongzhou Peng holds a PhD in international relations from the University of Melbourne, Australia, and was a post-doctoral fellow at Fudan University, China. He has published extensively on China's normative power, EU-China relationship, and Chinese foreign policy.
