This book offers theoretical arguments and empirical studies that demonstrate why focusing on the interrelations of technology and transitional justice from a business and human rights approach is crucial to achieve basic objectives in terms of truth, justice, memory, reparation, and non-repetition measures in post-conflict settings. This book elaborates a theoretical framework to analyze these topics and applies the framework through case studies to examine potential influence of technology in transitional justice mechanisms. In this sense, it contributes with information and legal, economic, political, and institutional arguments in the agenda that interrelate these three main topics. Sebastián Smart is a Research Fellow at Anglia Ruskin University's Centre for Access to Justice and Inclusion. Dr. Smart's research focuses on human rights, technology, and business, with a particular emphasis on business and human rights, transitional justice, and the impact of digital technology on human rights. He has authored numerous articles, book chapters, and reports on these topics. Sebastián has been a Fellow on Technology and Human Rights at Harvard University's Carr Center for Human Rights Policy for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 academic years.
