This Handbook presents a comprehensive overview of emerging trends in (transnational) organized criminality in contemporary Africa. Utilizing empirical and evaluative data sources scholars, professionals, and researchers in transnational organized crimes (TOCs) here depict and analyse the dynamic nature of associated crises affecting the African continent. The Handbook also explores the interconnectedness of TOCs beyond the shores of Africa, and the 'borderless' configuration of related criminalities is analysed in depth. With chapters ranging from human trafficking, to arms and migrants smuggling, illicit financial flow, insurgency, and terrorism among others within and beyond the borders of Africa, this book provides overview and analysis of cross-border and transnational organized criminality in Africa in the twenty-first century. Adebusuyi Isaac Adeniran holds a PhD degree in Social Sciences and presently works as a Professor/Senior Researcher in sociology, migration, crime, conflict, regional integration, sustainable development and research methodology at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Nigeria. He is also the Chair/Head of the Departments of Sociology and Anthropology and Communication and Media Studies at the University. He is a National Research Consultant with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) on Anti-Corruption and Migration (Trafficking-in-Persons (TIPS) and Smuggling-of-Migrants (SOMs)) in Nigeria. He is a Visiting Scholar at Harriet Tubman Institute, York University, Toronto, Canada. He specializes in social research design, field investigation and data management. Ayodele James Olabisi, a Professor of Criminology and Security Studies in Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Nigeria, has lectured for almost two decades. Since he began his lecturing career in the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, he has taught in University of Jos and Federal University Gusau. He holds BSc. Sociology (Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti), MSc Sociology/Criminology (University of Ado-Ekiti) and PhD Sociology/Criminology (University of Jos, Jos). Lanre Olusegun Ikuteyijo holds a PhD degree in Sociology with specialization in criminology.
