Mindful leadership
theoretical foundations, self-leadership and practical implications /[electronic resource] :by Nikola Plohr. - Wiesbaden :Springer Fachmedien Wiesbaden :2025. - viii, 150 p. :ill., digital ;24 cm.
This book invites readers into a thought-provoking dialogue, fostering reflection and self-discovery. It offers a process designed for anyone eager to explore their inner world and personal patterns while remaining open to new perspectives in their interactions with others. Moving fluidly from introspection to action, it bridges theory with practice in a meaningful way. The first section, Inner Leadership, explores the rich possibilities of self-reflection, an essential element for contemporary leadership. Mindfulness, both as a practice and a concept, provides the space for inward exploration-helping us connect with our inner narratives, our unique responses to criticism and emotions, and the ongoing search for recognition. The second section shifts the focus to leadership within teams. Through the lens of Mindful Leadership, it delves into the complex web of interpersonal dynamics that shape not only our professional lives but our broader human relationships. Key themes include communication, inspiration, courage, decision-making, belonging, and sustainability. Each chapter concludes with reflective questions and practical exercises, guiding readers to transform theoretical insights into actionable strategies. The Author Prof. Dr. Nikola Plohr is a professor of media sociology at Hochschule Fresenius in Hamburg. Her current research explores the evolving effects of artificial intelligence on both social structures and corporate dynamics. In addition to her academic role, she conducts workshops, coaching sessions, and seminars on Mindful Leadership, tailored to both corporate and personal environments. Since the publication of the German edition of this book, she has been focused on translating theoretical concepts into practical, hands-on techniques. Through her work, she continues to inspire individuals and organizations to embrace mindfulness in their leadership practices and interactions. The translation was done with the help of artificial intelligence. A subsequent human revision was done primarily in terms of content.
