The topics addressed include China's impact on international discourse, the inheritance of Chinese civilization, the great divergence between Chinese and Western histories, Kondratiev Cycle Theory, the socialist system and its future prospects, the Chinese path to modernization, and the Belt and Road Initiative. Wang Zhan is President of the Shanghai Federation of Social Science Associations and Executive Director of the China Center for International Economic Exchanges. She is the author of a number of books including Shifting Perspectives: American Studies of Chinese Women's History Since the 1960s.
