"This book embraces and deploys Ubuntu in unpacking the intersectionality of gender, class, race, religion, etc., and advocates for Ubuntu-inspired practices when engaging people. A must-read for all with a keen interest in human rights and co-existence." -Oliver Mtapuri is Professor in Development Studies in the School of Built Environment and Development Studies, University of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa This book uses a deconstruction context to highlight the challenges faced by the LGBTQIA+ communities in African Higher Education. The discursive approach adopted in the book is critical in enabling the editors and their authors space to articulate the subtle, problematic, and context-sensitive issues that drive exclusionary and unequal practices that students face in campus life. The book goes on to present an advanced argument for integrating African epistemologies such as Ubuntu with social justice frameworks to foster cultural competence and diversity in higher education. Mfundo Mandla Masuku is Associate Professor in the School of Built Environment and Development Studies at the University of KwaZulu-Nata, South Africa. Mbongeni Shadrack Sithole is Associate Professor in the Faculty of Community and Health Sciences at the University of the Western Cape, South Africa.
