Thesis (Ph.D.)--Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, 2024.
Thomas Aquinas sets the discussion of analogical predication of God. Most challenge his understanding of analogical predication by saying the lack of a univocal core in analogy leads to ignorance. Cornelius Van Til, in contrast, suggests a more robust and biblically generated approach to analogical language. Whereas Thomas reserves his ideas about analogical predication to "proper" attributes, Van Til argues that all human existence is analogical of the triune God, in whom the one and the many are equally ultimate. Van Til provides a robust view of analogy as involving reasoning, actions, and emotions, as well as all predication.
