Thesis (Ph.D.)--Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, 2023.

Given a choice of disposition options, Christians in the West today most often choose cremation for its lower overall cost and its logistical conveniences. This project argues that the disposition instead should be selected like every other Christian activity, that is, from a desire to give God sacrificial worship. It finds that the symbolism of burial more readily communicates what Scripture says of bodily resurrection and the Gospel, so it should be the normative practice since it provides one final opportunity to praise God and witness to Christ.
