The purpose of this quantitative correlational study is to examine if and to what extent a relationship exists between self-efficacy and transformational leadership amongst physical therapists in the United States. Prior to this study, it was not known if, and to what extent a relationship exists between self-efficacy and transformational leadership amongst physical therapist in the United States. This study was based on the Self-efficacy theory and Transformational leadership theory. A convenience sample of 130 was utilized to conduct this study of physical therapist within the United States. A quantitative methodology was employed for this study, a correlational design was used. This study used a brief demographic survey, New Generalized Self Efficacy Scale and Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire to collect data. A Spearman rho was used to analyze each variable being evaluated. Spearman rho findings revealed no significant correlation with three out of five hypotheses: for self-efficacy and individualized consideration (rs = .141, p =.11), self-efficacy and idealized influence (behaviors) (rs = .128, p =.147), and inspirational motivation (rs = .142, p = .108). Spearman rho analysis indicated there was a significant relationship between self-efficacy and idealized influence (attributes) (rs = .235, p = .007) and intellectual stimulation (rs = .300, p = .0005). These findings offer valuable implications for enhancing self-efficacy in physical therapy through transformational leadership traits.
