Psychological stress plays a role in the development of cerebrovascular pathologies. Prior studies have primarily focused on central cardiovascular measures and there has been little investigation into the cerebrovascular response to stress across ethnicities. This study investigated the cerebrovascular response to acute stress in Hispanic and non-Hispanic white individuals. Cerebral blood flow velocity and heart-middle cerebral artery pulse wave velocity were measured in 7 participants (21.82 {phono}{lstrok} 3.51 years, 87.5% female, 25.22 {phono}{lstrok} 2.66 kg/m2 ). In hmPWV outcomes, there was a significant effect for condition (p < .001), but not time (p=0.092) or ethnicity (p=0.203). There were significant time * condition (p < .001), condition * ethnicity (p=0.012), and time*condition*ethnicity (p=0.047) interaction effects. For MCAv, there was a significant interaction effect for condition*ethnicity (p=0.023). These results suggest that acute stress may detrimentally impact cerebral arterial stiffness, and there may be differences in these responses across Hispanic and Non-Hispanic White populations.{A0}
