According to USA Today (2023), college football is a billion-dollar industry, and the sport's recruiting services have evolved into a multi-million-dollar industry, making the sector worth studying. Recruiting services rate almost every high school player signing with a major university to play football. Little or no research has been conducted to ascertain the accuracy of these ratings to predict future success. By creating a system in which players are rated on a consistent scale before and after their collegiate career, an analysis will result in greater accuracy in predicting success and may serve as a guide for future recruiting. This manuscript initially explores the efficacy of two college football recruiting services (247Sports.com and Rivals.com) and proposes a new formula that incorporates data from each service to predict success more accurately in the sport.
