Olympic sports have shown significant popularity through both the Olympic Games and intercollegiate athletics. Currently Olympic sports are considered "non-revenue" generating within intercollegiate athletics and rely heavily upon the funds from football and men's basketball. The following thesis analyzes Power 5 NCAA volleyball ticketing practices and its relationship to attendance, providing the opportunity for additional revenue generation within an athletic department. Utilizing a range of independent variables controlling for fan attendance, the following study reveals ticketing is not a statistically significant driver of fan attendance. The random effects regression model revealed a variety of other factors including promotions, home team and visiting team success, and proximity of schools had an effect on attendance. This study ultimately can be utilized to help inform administrator decisions regarding team's schedule to improve attendance.
