Adult English language learners face various challenges, as their unique learning conditions and needs require special assistance. Teaching adults requires the capacity to identify their adulthood stage and characteristics to address their learning process, considering their intrinsic motivation effectively. In this way, delivering relevant content to their daily life becomes meaningful. As a result, engagement increases and allows learners to transition smoothly to the new cultural reality. This approach also encourages adults to take ownership of the learning process and ensure success. By creating a safe and supportive environment, adults are empowered to take risks, experiment, and gain valuable knowledge that can be returned to society in different ways. Thus, creating a teaching and learning handbook that provides and promotes better teaching practices and encourages self-directed learning through lesson plans centered on life skills in civic education, work environment skills, and social interactions is essential for offering language learners a better quality of life that contributes to the development of their potential to achieve and live a dignified life.
