With the influx of people immigrating to the United States, Buddhism has been practiced for many years in America. There is a Buddhist temple hidden away in Lucerne Valley in the High Desert region of Southern California. This temple is home to American Buddhists that have converted and learned from the temple's founder, Thich Ân Giao. This temple is open to anyone who chooses to visit and gain knowledge about Buddhism. Services are held every Sunday, and open meditation is held Thursday evenings. There are celebrations for different holidays held four times throughout the year and all visitors are welcome to attend and celebrate with the monks. Buddhism is growing in America as it adapts to the melting pot of cultures surrounding it, helping people that want to add to their own religious beliefs. Buddhism is a religion that want to help people of any religion find peace in their lives and the afterlife.
