Supervising future behavior analysts requires increased evaluation of current tools and techniques applicable to the process and additional research on improving systems through evidence-based practices. Research has supported self-management strategies, such as self-assessment within processes similar to the supervised independent fieldwork experience for behavior analysis students. This study evaluated if using a self-administered checklist designed based on the critical items on the 5th edition task list determined by the Behavior Analysis Certification Board® (BACB) would increase self-advocacy statements of supervision students for additional training and supervisor support. The participant was an active supervision student working within their supervised independent fieldwork to gain the skills and training necessary for receiving certification by the BACB. A concurrent multiple-baseline design across behaviors was utilized to establish experimental control. The introduction of the self-administered checklist served as the independent variable, and self-advocacy statements served as the dependent variable within the study. The results of this study indicated an increase in self-advocacy statements specific to the items on the self-administered checklist following the introduction of the tool.
