"Do maritime disputes lead to armed conflicts? "In order to resolve our research question and group the puzzle where two countries agreed to demarcate their EEZ despite being formally at war like Lebanon and Israel case. Stated differently, the outcome of our research inquiry would encompass four probable scenarios, duly factoring in the classification of each variable as either high or low. There is a possibility and a potential for armed conflict to arise in the midst of a maritime dispute, but it is not a certainty. In summary, after implementing our model on four distinct case studies, this paper has yielded the subsequent outcome. Given that, Lebanon remarkably aligns with three distinct outcomes across various time periods. The paper successfully demonstrated that armed conflicts arising from maritime disputes tend to be rare, albeit not impossible, under specific conditions.
