As an emerging innovative communication medium, research on virtual reality (VR)has attracted considerable attention. This study aims to explore how different forms of embodiment, or avatar, in the VR affects creativity, based on the construal level theory. In the experiment, 44 participants were recruited, and their task was to conduct creative ideation and problem-solving tasks. in a VR scenario with their avatar either similar or dissimilar to their actual appearance. The rationale being that embodying an avatar with a dissimilar appearance, as opposed to a similar appearance, should induce higher levels of construal that lead to more abstract mindsets and creative performance. The results showed a significant superior performance in creative insight problem-solving tasks in the dissimilar condition than the similar condition. Specifically, embodying an avatar with dissimilar appearance can solve more insight problems. Furthermore, the study also demonstrated an effect of appearance similarity on subjects' overall willingness to participate in tasks as avatars. This study has confirmed the role of construal level in the mental process of creative thinking , providing new perspectives and research directions for the field of VR and creativity research.

作為新興傳播管道的重要溝通媒介,探討虛擬化身在虛擬實境中的認知、態度 及行為影響因素的研究備受關注,本研究旨在探索一個過去尚未被充分討論的理論切 角 - 透過解釋級別理論探討虛擬化身的外觀相似性對創造力表現的影響。在實驗中, 我們將受試者分為與虛擬化身的外觀「相似」與「不相似」兩組,期望透過虛擬化身 的外觀相似性來操弄受試者的心理距離,進而影響他們在創造力發想以及解決洞察問 題的任務表現,預期結果將揭示外觀相似性與創造力表現之間的關係,以及不同級別 的心理解釋在此過程中的作用。本次研究採受試者間實驗設計,共招募了 44 位有效樣 本參與線下實驗,包含 23 位女性與 21 位男性。研究結果發現,不同條件的受試者在 解決創造性洞察問題的結果展現出顯著差異,但在創造力發想的流暢性與獨特性則 無,意即體現一個外觀與自己不相似的虛擬化身時,能解決更多創造性洞察問題。此 外,研究也發現了外觀相似性對受試者以化身參與任務的總體意願的影響。本文對於 解釋級別在化身外觀相似性與創造力之間作用的假設提出部分支持,同時也對虛擬實 境和創造力研究領域提供新的觀點及研究取徑,從而為後續研究者和虛擬實境實際應 用場景提出不同思考面向。.
