The educational success of bilingual students is of high priority. For Spanish literacy to have a maximum impact on language acquisition, more attention needs to be given to teacher preparation. The Dual Immersion Planning Guide for K-2 Teachers in appendix A of this document was written to support teachers with the planning and implementation process of teaching literacy in Spanish. This planning guide focuses on best practices in Spanish literacy relevant to teachers in grades k-2.
