This study examined the extent of work-family conflict (WFC) and family-work conflict (FWC) among senior female administrators in Mid-Atlantic community colleges. Further, this study examined measures of job satisfaction and occupational commitment as outcomes of WFC and FWC for the participants of the study. This quantitative study surveyed five hundred and three (n = 503) women in senior administrative positions in 103 Mid-Atlantic community colleges which were member institutions of the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC). Significant findings indicated that the participants experienced more WFC as compared to FWC. Other findings revealed that age and marital status significantly influenced the levels of WFC. Although the participants reported a significant level of WFC, no correlations to organizational commitment and job satisfaction were established. Implications and recommendations for community college boards of trustees and human resource officers are suggested as community colleges evaluate their work-family culture, policies and practices.
