This research uses a quantitative methodology to explore the perceptions of secondary school students and parents on the academic, social, and emotional effects of COVID-19. During a global pandemic, the study's participants consist of students and parents in a small New Jersey school district. The researcher surveyed students and parents on their perceptions related to specific academic, social, and emotional effects of COVID-19. In total, 112 parents and 112 students agreed to participate in the study. The data analyzed suggests that there were no significant differences between student and parent perceptions during COVID-19. In many instances, they were affected academically, socially, and emotionally.
