"Repair builds value" is a new type of practice incorporating the owner's narrative into furniture repair processes, emphasizing the bonds between the owner and the piece of furniture. It presents a furniture repair service in which the designer's role is embedded, enhancing creativity and flexibility. The approaches aim to add value to furniture and explore possibilities of continuing the lives of furniture other than ending up landfilled. Moreover, this paper encourages people to have faith in more options of using furniture, and explore more approaches, either through repairing or other methods. Finally, people could invest more in their own furniture and keep the stories going.
