To maintain international competitiveness U.S. national and state educational agencies recognized, the prerequisites for high schools and secondary educational institutes would require a more rigorous and relevant Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. This study utilized a prospective causal-comparative research design to examine and evaluate CTE programs within three disciplines; employability, employment retention, and CTE perceptions. The research focused on CTE meeting the employer's needs as it relates to employability and job retention. The research would bridge the gaps that local manufactures have regarding CTE programs related to job fit, employability, technical skills, and communication skills. The research also explored differences in employability, employment retention, and CTE perceptions among CTE and non-CTE candidates.
