Sexual trauma is a prevalent issue and a reason many individuals seek therapeutic services. The effects of sexual trauma often include symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). To treat these PTSD symptoms, there are a variety of evidence-based practices (EBPs) for mental health professionals to employ. This study reviews recent literature regarding the most popular EBPs for the treatment of sexual trauma as well as the benefits of integrating spirituality into the treatment of trauma in general. It has become evident that integrating spirituality into the EBPs for treating sexual trauma would be of special benefit to the long-term mental health of the survivors.
