With the abundance of media our information age, delivering a meaningful story that will move the audience is been a great challenge for nonfiction filmmaker. But when a nonfiction media is transformed into Virtual Reality, it can invoke a genuine human experience. The accelerated advance of Virtual Reality (VR) in its technological frontier during the past years, has made an exciting promise of offering a new domain with unlimited possibilities and gained a peculiar interest among Journalist and Documentary filmmaker. VR is one of the best assets and aspects of our future media. It is practically in use in almost every field such as entertainment, gaming, defense, robotics, medical, healthcare, military, education, fashion, heritage, business, engineering and many more fields. New forms of media have always caused seismic shifts in society, from the printing press to the telegraph to a series of intertwined wire called the internet. But VR isn't simply a new form of media; it sweeps away the barriers of all previous forms. Watching a standard format video is all enjoyable, yet they're all limited. Each is a representation of the real thing, but it doesn't actually feel like the real thing at all. Television and radio are pale in comparison to what VR offers. The imaginary worlds within those things are presented to us, and we appreciate them, but we don't actually experience them. Not truly. Now, with the sensory immersion that VR delivers, we have the ability to become the art to be part of a world, even to be a character. Through analyzing the works of Christ Milk and Nonny De La Pena. We can substantiate that immersive nonfiction film does not only provide a new media format but can be an incredible social transformation and empathy building tool for nonfiction filmmakers because it will make you the witness, the participant and the character of the story.
