The loneliness of the elderly, due to its diverse aspects, has an integrative character and is the pivot of sociology, gerontology, anthropology, psychology, social work and complex rehabilitation. Loneliness is becoming a persistent characteristic of the elderly and old people as a social group. Scientific knowledge is looking for ways to deal with loneliness in the elderly. Comprehensive rehabilitation in this age, addressing the biological, psychological and social side of the problem, provides real opportunities to improve life satisfaction. As part of rehabilitation, occupational therapy focuses on changes in environmental conditions to facilitate the individual, increasing their motivation, well-being, and effectiveness in carrying out daily activities. Occupational and art therapy have the opportunity to take a leading role in improving and overcoming emotional and functional problems that affect the quality of life of users of the social service "nursing home", as well as the elderly and old people. This dissertation aims to investigate and establish the impact of specific rehabilitation care in overcoming/reducing feelings of loneliness in elderly and old people by applying an experiment. The subject of the study is overcoming the feeling of loneliness through rehabilitation care in users of the social service "nursing home". The research object is the users of the social service "nursing home".

520 $a Проблемът за самотата на възрастните хора, поради многообразната си аспектност има интегративен характер и е допирната точка на социологията, геронтологията, антропологията, психологията, социалната работа и комплексната рехабилитация. Самотата се превръща в устойчива характеристика на възрастните и стари хора като социална група. Научното познание търси начини за справяне със самотата при възрастните хора. Комплексната рехабилитация в тази възраст, насочена към биологичната, психичната и социалната страна на проблема дава реални възможности за подобряване удовлетвореността от живота. Ерготерапията, като част от рехабилитацията, е насочена към промени в условията на средата с цел улесняване на индивида, повишавайки неговата мотивация, благополучие и ефективност в извършване на ежедневните дейности. Ерго- и арт терапията имат възможност да поемат водеща роля в подобряването и преодоляването на емоционалните и функционални проблеми, които оказват влияние върху качеството на живот на потребителите на социалната услуга "дом за стари хора", както и върху възрастните и стари хора. Целта на дисертационният труд е да се проучи и установи влиянието на специфичните рехабилитационни грижи за преодоляване/намаляване на чувството за самота при възрастни и стари хора чрез прилагане на експеримент. Предмет на изследването е преодоляване на чувството за самота посредством рехабилитационни грижи при потребителите на социалната услуга "дом за стари хора". Обект на научното изследване са потребителите на социалната услуга "дом за стари хора".
