Included here are a variety of reflections. Like the natural elements within my work, the narratives are cyclical rather than linear. They orbit out and then circle back to connected themes. A contour drawing is the most minimalist way to suggest form. However, by layering these contour marks over and over a sense of weight emerges, as well as a more wholistic vision of the object. This layering is what I like to do. My thought process involves first cutting things down and simplifying them to high contrasts and bare essentials. I am not really interested in minimalism however and from that pragmatic, bare earth I build up and layer and form lines that reinforce, and digress, and obliterate to create a final form.
