Things Charlies Says (TCS) is a braided memoir and work of cosmic reflection in which the author uses the occasion of his father-in-law's dementia (together with the author's photography) to explore themes of memory and loss--time and retention. Charlie is the central star, but TCS is not ultimately about him, or even Alzheimer's. It is about what endures in the face of ever present decay.
