There is a need for effective resources and activities to allow teachers of English as a Second Language (ESL) to create high quality learning environments to facilitate comprehensible content language input to their ESL students during elementary schooling. This work is the result of the design and in room testing of resources and activities as learning tools to foster language acquisition and to improve language proficiency skills of the students. This research provides a teacher-created handbook of resources, activities and tools that could be used in daily practice of teaching, allowing a more efficient input of content language usage in the classroom. The project includes read-alouds, vocabulary acquisition games, collaborative experiments, role-playing activities, content language review, interactive information sharing and the use of online resources such as Flipgrid and Quizizz to support language learning and for the teachers to provide feedback to the parents. With the use of these resources and activities, ESL teachers can support their learners to practice skills such as reading, listening, writing and speaking and also make them think and rationalize a comprehensive output of the language. These resources and activities are presented in the form of games and hands-on tasks favoring language acquisition, usage and metacognition.
