When a meme is mentioned today, we generally refer to an Internet meme. An Internet meme is usually an image or a video spread like a virus, carrying ideas, symbols, or practices, as a form of cultural transmission.A concept that put forward as early as 1976 , there were already then a large number of offline "memes", with their unique modes of transmission and the same viral transmission capabilities as today's Internet memes. Today, offline memes and their creative potential as an effective medium of communications is often overlooked.By applying the methodologies of field research, data collection and case studies, this research investigates memes' online and offline dissemination patterns and compares the power of online and offline memes. The research will use design methodologies such as transmission, dissemination, repetition, sequencing, amplification, and exaggeration to visualize, demonstrate, model, and suggest the difference between online and offline memes directly through visualizations, artifacts, and situations, in order to reveal the nature of offline memes and the possibility of them going viral again in today.
