Lean Management has been known as a continuous cultural practice to improve all levels of an organization by eliminating waste to become more cost-effective and efficient. The purpose of this case study was to examine healthcare employees' perceptions of Lean Management in a hospital that implements Lean concepts and determine how these perceptions affect healthcare employees' work performance. The guiding conceptual framework for this study was the motivational-hygiene model theory This theory classifies motivation and hygiene as factors that influence employees' work environment satisfaction level on the job. The hygiene factors influence employees' frustration and dissatisfaction in the workplace. The other contributing factors were salary, work conditions, supervision, company policies, status, and security. Fifteen participants were obtained for the study; however, only ten were interviewed, and five of them participated in a focus group. I used purposeful sampling to enlist qualified participants for the study. Three instruments were used, and they were the inclusion/exclusion questionnaire to determine the level of knowledge pertaining to Lean Six Sigma, an interview instrument, and a focus group. Thematic data analysis was used to analyze the data. The potential impact with organizations that utilize Lean Management is encouraging. The message of the entire study is that Lean Management in healthcare organizations could improve organizational performance and help employees recognize errors in their work performance. Nevertheless, there is limited research on Lean Management, and the results of this study would potentially add to the Lean Management field. Alternate studies could employ mixed-method research to investigate employees' techniques on Lean Management, as well as a non-experimental quantitative study to determine if job satisfaction is related to employees' job satisfaction.
