Spiritual formation that is fostered through spiritual leadership is a common requirement faculty and administration in theological and ministry based educational institutions. As such, spiritual leadership is a dominant paradigm that is common and is a requirement in such institutions. The positive effects of spiritual leadership upon theology and ministry students have been clearly supported by research. However, the inner relational elements of spiritual leadership have undergone extremely limited empirical study. Moreover, the constructs of spirituality and self-efficacy have also been established as elements that are at work within various leadership styles. However, no previous study concerning these two constructs and spiritual leadership has been conducted within the context of Christian higher education. This research seeks to reveal the relation of these variables in order to establish a better understanding of the inner workings of the presented spiritual leadership model. Recommendations for further research within the context of Christian higher education will also be discussed.
