In this thesis, I discuss art that I developed during my three years in the MFA program at the Stony Brook University. I completed two major photographic projects while in the program. The first, produced in the studio at my university, was an experiment with color abstraction. The second project was composed during the COVID-19 pandemic, which has changed my practice. This new work, created from my bedroom, is a series of narrative screenshot photographs, which document love, separation, and long-distance communication. By following my cultural influence and instinct about color and using technology to maintain family bonds, I have realized that artwork made from the depths of my heart can be moving and resonant.
