This research focused on the experiences of undergraduate Deaf student-parents. Student-parents refers to college students who are simultaneously a parent or primary caregiver to children. The study consisted of four participants who were interviewed and observed remotely. Results of this study highlighted the perception of the student-parent's role, challenges, and resources accessed and needed. The participants described ways in which the hearing community simultaneously provided barriers and support to various obstacles, including verbal language models for their hearing children. Many parents also reported challenges with accessing and obtaining childcare and finding support on campus via professors and non-parent classmates. Participants with school age children reported two different kind of stresses related to the school choices. Three of the four participants reported living on the University campus as a helpful factor to collaborate with other families. Additionally, all of the participants identified as having additional roles outside of parent and student and needing increase access to communicative childcares/ schools and financial assistance.
