The book explores the question of the significance of fear and reason in the context of cultural violence and subjective different experiences of violence. Perspectives from the social sciences, educational philosophy, and cultural studies open up an interdisciplinary approach to violence from culture and the media, the experience of fear and vulnerability, and strangeness and rage. The editors Dr. Jutta Ecarius is professor of educational science at the University of Cologne. Dr. Johannes Bilstein is Professor of Education at the Düsseldorf Academy of Arts. This book is a translation of an original German edition.
