This dissertation focuses on the question of whether or not the New Testament writers cared about the Old Testament contexts. The answer is affirmative, but with the caveat that the New Testament writers might have been looking at a variant ordered text, which would alter the context of the traditional Masoretic Text. Proof for this hypothesis comes from the variant orders of Ezekiel and Daniel found in Papyrus 967, an Old Greek manuscript. This dissertation argues that the variant order of Papyrus 967 better fits the arguments that Matthew (in Matthew 26:64) and Paul (in 2 Corinthians 6:16) made.
