In chapter 1, the project director explained and provided a detailed analysis of the community in which implementation occurred. Through the United States Census and other research tools available, the project director provided the community breakdown. The project director also explained the overarching themes of the ministry project, which are further developed in the chapters that follow. In chapter 2, the project director provided the scriptural background of the ministry project. The project director considered three biblical passages: Deut 6:1-9; Acts 18:24-28; and 1 Cor 15:1-11. The project director thoroughly exegeted and considered the criteria of developing a catechism for the church. The passages in Deuteronomy and 1 Corinthians provided teaching elements that focus on the importance of memorization, while the passage in Acts provided a foundation on the importance of correct doctrinal teaching. Chapter 3 provided the ministry background for the entire project. Here, the project director examined several historical catechisms of the church. The project director looked specifically at the background, teaching, and application of each catechism to provide a historical connection to the Baptist faith and to identify important structures to consider for the development of a new catechism. In chapter 4, the project director reviewed the writing and implementation of the ministry project. He also included step-by-step instructions for replicating the ministry project in other church settings. In addition to the previous steps, the project director clarifies extenuating circumstances during the completion of this ministry project. Chapter 5 served as the conclusion to the ministry project. The project director reviewed the information included in the first four chapters. He provided personal feedback on his own growth as a pastor during the ministry project process.
