Research regarding attachment with God and differentiation of self has a robust foundation in the literature, however, cross-cultural studies are limited. This study examines attachment with God, individualism, collectivism, and differentiation of self in second generation Christian Korean Americans. Participants included second generation Christian Korean Americans (n=145) and White Christians (n=102). This study found that secure attachment with God statistically significantly predicted differentiation of self scores in second generation Christian Korean Americans, R2 = 0.087, F(1, 143) = 13.704, p < .001. Additionally, statistically significant differences on horizontal/individualism scores when compared based on attachment to God categories existed. Furthermore, statistically significant differences existed on differentiation of self scores when compared based on attachment to God categories. White Christians (n=102) were utilized as a comparison group with second generation Christian Korean Americans (n=145) to test differences between DoS scores and no statistically significant difference was found. Implications for the church, mental health professionals, counselor educators and the Korean American community are discussed.
